A Casa Velha do Palheiro foi construída no início do século XIX como um pavilhão de caça para o
Conde de Carvalhal e foi adquirida em 1885 por John Burden Blandy. Atualmente, o hotel faz parte
da Palheiro Nature Estate. Desde a sua aquisição pela família Blandy em 1885, sucessivas gerações
têm gerido a transição da agricultura tradicional para atividades ligadas ao lazer e ao turismo. A
forte tradição de hospitalidade e qualidade mantém-se em todo o hotel, clube de golfe, restaurantes
e jardins, onde os nomes Blandy e Palheiro são sinónimo de excelência na Madeira e além-fronteiras.

Description

Casa Velha do Palheiro was built in the early 19th Century as a hunting lodge for the Count of
Carvalhal and was bought in 1885 by John Burden Blandy. The hotel is now a part of Palheiro Nature
Estate. Since its acquisition by the Blandy family in 1885, successive generations have managed the
transition from traditional farming to leisure-based activities. The strong tradition of hospitality and
quality continues throughout the hotel, golf club, restaurants and gardens, where the names of
Blandy and Palheiro are synonymous with quality in Madeira and beyond. The hotel Casa Velha do
Palheiro is a member of the Relais & Châteaux establishment and provides 33 rooms and 5 suites,
